AZGFD EXPO 2008
written by: Eddy Corona

Arizona Game and Fish Department had the third annual outdoor expo from March 29th and 30th. Last year there was around 17,000 people that attended and this year we had over 18,000 just on Saturday. AZGFD did a great job by moving things closer together and having more things for people to check out.

Chandler Rod and Gun Club along with Hunt of a Lifetime joined forces and not to brag, but I feel we had the best display of all. We had over 15 people helping out throughout the weekend. If you did not attend, then you missed out on a lot of fun. Both the CRG and HOAL members made many contacts and were able to inform the public about the things we do and educate them on our organizations. The feedback on both organizations was very positive both from other clubs and from the public.

The setup took place on Friday and with the help we had, we were able to build a 20 foot back wall where we hung deer racks, elk racks, bear skulls, sheep horns, bear rug, fishing poles, bow and arrows, along with framed pictures and newspaper articles. We also had two laptops going showing pictures of CRG events and HOAL videos and past hunters. We also had five tables with fliers from our sponsors and information on both CRG and HOAL. We gave away Hunt of a Lifetime pens, wooden nickels, key chains, and window stickers.

I want to thank the following people who helped out: Randy Krecklow, Todd Krecklow, Levi Krecklow, Mike Wondrash, Tom Paz, Ray Brooks, Sammy Brooks, Shawn and Mary Hurst all from CRG and from HOAL we had Chris Denham, Gary Goose Howell, Lee Hop, and Nate Metcalf. A special thanks to the girls next door, Emily and Tiffany from Grand Canyon Wildlands Council.

"March 2008 Unit 21 Work Project"
Wildcat Road Reclamation near Dugas
Saturday - March 15th, 2008

Terry Petko (Ambassador) and Debi Petko (Secretary/Treasurer) representing Hunt Of A Lifetime Arizona donated their time and muscle on the "March 2008 Unit 21 Work Project-Wildcat Road Reclamation near Dugas" in support of the Arizona Antelope Foundation, the Arizona Game and Fish Department, the Prescott National Forest Service and Local Ranch Owners, in appreciation for their support of our program over the years.

It's important for sportsmen, campers, ATV and recreational vehicle users to respect these road closures as they protect large areas of open habitat and help conserve our valuable wildlife resources. This is especially critical as we recover from our recent drought years.

November, 2007 - We would like to thank The Arizona Game and Fish Department for awarding funding to our program (Hunt Of A Lifetime Arizona) through their “Local Sportsmans Group Grant Program".

Thanks to this funding we were able to purchase 2 shooting devices from Be Adaptive Equipment LLC. These shooting devices will be a big asset in providing quality hunting experiences for children in our program who have mobility limitations.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department has been, and continues to be, one of our programs biggest supporters.
